Beverly Ann “Bev” Hofmann, born on November 22,1946 in St. Louis Missouri, passed away peacefully
on January 26, 2024, at the age of 77. Bev was a long-term resident at Sage Living where she took her
final breath. The family would like to extend our gratitude to the staff at Sage living, for the years of
love and kindness given to Bev, you all made her days brighter.
Born with an adventurous heart and an artist eye, Bev moved to Jackson in 1973 where she purchased
her home and made a life for herself. As a child having spent many family vacations in Jackson Hole, she
fell in love with the wildlife and beauty of the community and lived there happily for 51 years.
Her professional life started at the Jackson Hole Guide where she worked in typesetting, layouts, and
bookkeeping. Bev then moved to the Valley Bookstore as a bookkeeper and preformed computer work.
In 1981 she started her medical administration career at St. John’s Hospital in the medical records
department as a transcriptionist, she also worked as a medical coder, credentialing specialist advanced
to supervisor than manager. In 1993 Bev was named Director of Medical Records. In January of 2000,
she stepped down from the Director position, but continued working as a manager, coder, and
transcriptionist as well as taking on Special Projects. Bev was a wealth of knowledge, and always willing
to share her experiences, knowledge, and history as appropriate when problem solving issues. Bev was
very respected by the staff and physicians.
Bev had a passion for crafting and her talents did not go unnoticed. She was honored for “Centennial
Needlepoint Artists’ Day” in 1990 during the 100 th Anniversary of Wyoming Statehood. Her work
showcases a chair in the Governors residence and is on view for all to see. Bev shared her love of
jewelry making, needlepointing, and all forms of crafting with fellow residents and staff at Sage Living.
Crafting was Bev’s happy place and brought her joy and fulfillment.
Bev will be lovingly remembered and missed by her brother, Robert Edward Hofmann of Niantic,
Connecticut. She is preceded in death by her father, Clarence Richard Hofmann, mother Marie Elizabeth
Hofmann and sister-in-law Carol Ann Hofmann.
A mass will be held at a date to be determined at Bev’s beloved church, Our Lady of the Mountains in
Jackson.
