Burnell Johnston

On Dec. 22, 2014 Burnell (Buck) Alvin Johnston saddled up old Sonny and rode off into the sunset for the last time.

Grave side services held at Elliott Cemetery in Wilson, Wyoming Saturday Dec. 27, 2014 at 11 am.

Burnell was born May 6, 1927 to Alvin and Etta Goodric Johnston in Jackson Wyoming, the 7th of 13 children - 11 girls and 2 boys. He was the great grandson of Nick Wilson. He grew up living in the log home that his Dad built in 1931 along the banks of Cache Creek. His childhood was filled with adventures of fishing, hunting and skiing. He raised rabbits to sell to the meat markets. He and his childhood friends Jack and Poncho Roice and Clinton Budge were always together making many fond memories. His favorite thing to do was riding his beautiful horse Sonny. Buck joined the Army June of 1945. He served a year in Germany after the war on clean up patrol. Returning from the Army in Nov. 1946. He then worked ranching for Walt Feuz. In 1952 he married Mae Angeli in Wilson, Wy. They have 3 sons, Ronnie born in 1954, Randy born in 1955 and Roger born in 1956. The family made homes on several ranches. He worked for the Teton County road department and the Teton County landfill among other jobs.
