Carl Hawks

March 29, 1926 — April 15, 2011

Much loved grandfather, father and husband, Carl (Pinky) Eugene Hawks passed away quietly at his home on Friday, April 15, 2011 at 85, after a lengthy illness. Pinky Hawks was born in Casper, Wyoming in 1926. He was the son of Carl and Lena Hawks. He graduated from Natrona County High School where he was an all-state basketball player. He atteended Casper College in the earliest days, when it was stil on the third floor of Natrona County High School. Mr. Hawks had the honor of serving in the Army with the 11th Airborne Paratroopers in the South Pacific. He was a member of the pioneer family of Leslie Bailey.

Pinky Hawks married Donna Kube in Casper, Wyoming on August 18, 1973. Mr. Hawks had a very long career as a buildings contractor. During his time as a builder, he built many houses, schools, and commercial buildings in Casper and around the State of which he was very proud and which still stands today. Pinky enjoyed fishing, cooking, watching Denver Broncos football and anything that involved his family.

Pinky is survived by his sister, Evelen Farrell of Scottsdale AZ, his two sons, Dean Hawks of Casper and Ron Kube of Arizona and daughter Vonnie Martin of Jackson. He is also survived and will be greatly missed by his grandchildren who loved him. Mr. Hawks was succeeded in death by his parents and his beloved wife, Donna.

At his request, no services will be held for Carl. Memorials may be made to Jason's Friends Foundation. Pinky will be buried at the Wyoming Veteran's Cemetery in Casper Wyoming with a military burial and graveside farewell.
