Elizabeth was born in Monmouth, Kansas to Murl Lewis Depue and Bertha Oreen Depue (Sartin). Proceeding her is death are two brothers Merle Depue, deceased 1998 and Larry Depue, deceased at birth. She has three surviving brothers Jack Depue of Fairland, Oklahoma; Donald Depue of Independence, Missouri; and Bobby Depue of Greenwood, Missouri. Elizabeth has two children, Joan Foster of South Padre Island, Texas and Stephen Foster of Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

Elizabeth was a graduate of McCune High School in 1945 and graduated from Fort Scott Community College in 1964. She worked at Liberty Savings and Loan in Fort Scott for many years.

Elizabeth married Alvin Thomas in 1976 and was married for 32 years. Alvin proceeded here in death in 2008. Elizabeth and Alvin lived on a farm near McCune during their marriage.

Elizabeth was always active in McCune belonging to the Jolly Quilters Club, Eastern Star, Lady Lions, the Christian Church, the McCune alumni association and the fall festival. Elizabeth's hobbies and past time included quilting, knitting, gardening and reading.

Elizabeth moved to Jackson, Wyoming in the summer of 2007 to be near her son. She resided in the Living Center nursing facility in Jackson until her death.

Funeral services will be at the Brenner Mortuary in Pittsburg, Kansas on Tuesday, April 28 at 2PM. Internment will be in the McCune Cemetery. Family will be receiving friends at 1PM before the service.
