Faye Robertson

August 17, 1946 — June 16, 2016

Faye Robertson age 69 passed away Thursday, June 16, 2016 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Faye was the daughter of Eck and Chloe Robertson and a lifelong resident of Jackson Hole.

Faye grew up on Hog Island where her parents owned a ranch. She learned how to work at a young age she helped her mom cook and clean and helped her dad milk cows. She used to always talk about being embarrassed going to school because she would have cow manure on her shoes. Other than that she had a good life and their house was always filled with brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews. Everything was shared she didn’t know what it was like to have her own room or even her own bed.

Faye graduated Jackson-Wilson high school on 1964; she also married Kennard Heron that same year. From this union came two children, Rob and Kelly. While Ken and Faye were married they lived in various places throughout the state of Wyoming. They lived wherever dad could find work in the mines and pursue his lineman apprenticeship. Faye and Kennard were divorced in 1971, after the divorce Faye and the kids moved to Oracle Arizona to live with Ed and Rita Heron. After a short while she decided to move her little family back to Jackson and Hog Island. Faye worked many different jobs to support her family; she did everything from being a cocktail waitress, bartender, meat cutter, house cleaner, secretary, horse wrangler, cabbie and finally construction worker.

Faye was first and foremost a great mom and a wonderful cook. When Kelly and Robbie were growing up they had a lot of friends and their friends were always welcome at the house. Their friends would ask “What’s Faye was cooking for dinner?” and if it was something good like chicken enchiladas they would all show up. Needless to say mom always made lots of extra food. She loved having all the kids around and would talk about how quiet the house was when Rob and Kelly moved out. She loved the outdoors and working in her yard. She loved to ride horses on Munger Mountain.

Faye traveled to many rodeos with her love Buck Laroque. Buck roped and was a member of the senior pro rodeo association. They made many great friends traveling the circuit and even got to spend a few winters in Arizona.

Last but not least Faye was a devoted grandmother, she loved her grandkids with her whole heart and in her eyes they could do no wrong. Rob and Kelly were not allowed to scold their kids in front of Grandma, somehow Rob and Kelly became second best……..

Faye was preceded in death by both her parents, Eck and Chloe Robertson, her sisters Dolores Engler and Rita Heron, her brothers Jack and Dan Robertson. Her grandson Charlie Buck Randall and her son-in-law Steve Randall. She is survived by her brother Steve Robertson, her children Rob Heron {Janet Heron} and Kelly Thomas, her partner Buck Laroque and his children Monte and Lonja Laroque, her grandchildren Mick Heron, Nathan Heron, Stevie Marie Randall and Chancy Randall and also her many nieces and nephews whom she loved very much.

A memorial gathering will be held at Faye's home on Saturday, July 9th at 2:00 pm.
