Mr. James Presley Bell, long time resident of Jackson, died on December 29th, 2010. He was married for 64 years to Virginia McSpadden Bell. Jim was born on November 25th, 1923 in Desha, AR. He served in the Navy during World War II aboard a Destroyer Escort in the Pacific Theater. After honorably serving his country in time of war, he joined Chevron Corporation as a welder. Working at the refinery in Pascagoula, MS he rose through the ranks to become head of the maintenance department. During his long career with Chevron, Jim was selected to head various special projects which allowed Jim and Virginia to travel extensively throughout the United States and in Europe including Belgium and Italy. After retirement, they moved to Jackson where they have spent the last 25 wonderful years. Jim was known as a passionate and avid hunter and was well known among the hunting and fishing community in Jackson. He was a devoted husband and father of sons Dr. P. Darwin Bell, of Birmingham, AL, Mr. Rory Bell of Everett, WA, and ganddaughter Mrs. Amanda Morgan and great grandchildren Preston, Avery and Adeline of Houma, LA. He is survived by sisters Hallijean Taylor of Batesville, AR and Mildred Bufford of Madera, CA. Funeral is at Redeemer Lutheran Church 175 North Willow Street, Jackson, WY at 1:30 PM January 2nd, 2011.
