Jane Pauline van der Hoogt Bigler February 16, 1917 ~ June 16, 2010 Jane "Bobbie" Pauline van der Hoogt Bigler, 93, of Waldport, Oregon, died June 16th, 2010 at her home from complications of advanced age. Bobbie was born on February 16th, 1917 in Rio Vista, California to Wichard and Louise van der Hoogt. She received her education at San Jose State College in San Jose, California. She spent her childhood in Isleton, San Francisco and Vacaville. Her family moved to Palo Alto in the early 30's, where she met her future husband, William Bigler. They were married January 27th, 1937. Bill and Bobbie designed several houses in Palo Alto. She lived chiefly in Palo Alto, but later in Los Altos, Friday Harbor, Jackson, Wyoming, and finally Waldport, Oregon. During her life she was a shop owner of both Wilma Buck Apparel and Wishing Well Apparel in Palo Alto. She also worked for Saks Fifth Avenue in Palo Alto. Bobbie was a member of the Episcopalian Church, and Girl Scout Leader as well as belonging to various garden clubs. She enjoyed painting, horticulture, bird watching, architecture, sewing, home decorating and interior design, classical music, cowboy music and cooking. Bobbie's husband, William L. Bigler, preceded her in death on February 26th, 2004. She is survived by her children, Eric William, Leslie Jane and Mark Jordan; daughter-in-law Karin; son-in-law, John Stevens; four grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren and four great, greatgrandchildren.
