Jean Edward Moulder

On February 26, 2014 the Lord called his faithful servant, Jean Edward Moulder, of Jackson, WY, to be with him in heaven.

Jean was born on October 20, 1934 in Bronx, NY to Harry and Ethel Nurse Moulder. Jean spent his childhood growing up between Scarsdale NY and Trumbull, CT. He graduated from Eastchester High School and Long Island Agricultural & Technical College in 1954 where he received a degree in mechanical engineering. As a boy, Jean developed a passion for boats, airplanes, cars and trains; he and his brother Robert spent many summers on Pinewood Lake in Trumbull, CT where he would test out the many projects that he had made.

Jean met and fell in love with Vivian Unhammer in New York and after a courtship they married at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Yonkers, NY on November 21, 1959. By 1960 Jean and Vivian moved to Huntington, CT where they raised their three children. In 2007 they moved to Jackson, WY to enjoy their retirement years. Jean and Vivian also spent much of their time in Washington, New Hampshire where Jean built a summer home for the family. While in New Hampshire they enjoyed spending time with their children, grandchildren and many friends that lived on the lake.

After receiving his degree in engineering, Jean began working for AEL, Automation Engineering Laboratory, located in Greenwich, CT. While at AEL Jean was part of the development of numerous patents including machines that made the Cadbury Easter bunny and Monopoly boards and cards. In the early 1980's Jean brought his expertise to Schick Safety Razor in Milford, CT. While at Schick, Jean designed and oversaw the development of the machines that assembled many of the products we use every day. He retired as a Sr. Project Engineer from Schick in 1997. The work that Jean has achieved in his lifetime is now used and is a part of people's lives around the world.

Another important aspect of Jean's life was his hobbies and projects, which included his love for model trains. During his life in Connecticut and Wyoming, Jean was a member of several train clubs and brought enjoyment to all who saw his layouts at the hundreds of train shows he participated in. In both of his homes, Jean had expansive and extremely detailed train layouts which were the envy of many of his train friends. Other projects that Jean was passionate about included building his tractor, a large telescope, a metal detector, and a grandfather clock.

Apart from his career, Jean was a consummate family man. He enjoyed spending countless hours sharing his time and energy with his children and grandchildren. The church was also an important part of his life as well; he was a founding member and on the board of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, in Trumbull, CT until his move to Wyoming.

Surviving Jean is his wife of 54 years, Vivian Moulder, of Jackson, Wy, Christopher & Jolene Moulder of Jackson, WY, Nancy & John Parisee of Victor, ID, Brian & Mary Moulder of Orange, CT and a brother Robert Moulder of New Jersey. Grandchildren include Lucas, Abbie & Ethan Moulder, Dylan Buckley, Julienne & Spencer Parisee and Justin Moulder.

Jean died at St. John's Hospital in Jackson, Wyoming due to complications of Parkinson's Disease. Preceding him in death were his parents Harry & Ethel Moulder and a grandson, Ryan Buckley.

A memorial service, celebrating Jean's life, will be held at Shepherd of the Mountains Lutheran Church in Jackson, WY on Sunday, March 2, 2014 at 1:00. Friends and loved ones are invited to attend.
