Kristen Karn

Kristen Ardinger Karn, died at the age of 40 as a result of an automobile accident. She passed away on Tuesday, August 10, 2010, at the Eastern Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Kristen was 40 years old and lived in Hoback, Wyoming, with her husband, Dan Karn and her 10 week old infant daughter, Harper Price Karn.

Kristen was born in Selma Alabama, on November 28, 1969. She graduated from St. Maria Gorretti High School in Hagerstown, Maryland and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Syracuse University, where she excelled in swimming. Kristen participated in many sports throughout her life, winning many awards and setting records on various levels.

Kristen owned and operated a successful dog boarding business, Dog Day Afternoon, as well as volunteered at a number of animal-related organizations in the Jackson area. She loved and was dedicated to her family, her dogs and everyone she came in contact with.

Along with her husband and daughter, she is survived by her father, Don Ardinger, Hagerstown, Maryland; a sister and brother-in-law, Sandy and Brian Cousins, Jackson Hole, Wyoming; aunts and uncles: Ned and Sarah Ardinger, Hagerstown, Md, Trudy and Frank Kunze, Royersford, PA, Karen and George Yeager, Camp Hill, PA; and numerous cousins and close friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Susan Lynn Ardinger (Yeager), and her grandparents, Don and Hattie Ardinger, Hagerstown MD, and Mark and Teddi Yeager, Camp Hill, PA.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to PAWS of Jackson Hole Dog Park, P.O. Box 13033, Jackson Hole, WY 83002 or the Animal Adoption Center, P.O. Box 8532, Jackson, WY, 83002.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 14 at River Crossing Church, in Jackson, with a gathering and reception to follow the service. Interment will be private at the discretion of the family. A memorial service in Hagerstown, Maryland will be held at a later date. Details are not available at this time.
