Michael Zahnen

Michael "Mikey Z" James Zahnen, 52, of Jackson. Passed away on June 24, 2013. He was born February 25, 1961 in Chicago, Illinois. Michael Graduated from Niles West High School in 1979. After graduating high school he joined the Marines. Michael loved the outdoors. Loving to fish, hunt, Mountain bike and was an avid Golfer. His Men's Club membership with the Mankind Project was also a huge part of his life. As a lover of the outdoors he found his first love as a ski instructor in Vail Valley, Colorado. In the skiing off season he worked as a golf assistant, prior to moving to Jackson to be a ski instructor. Michael is survived by his parents; Joe and Carol Runtz, sister; Diana Lee Marziani, brothers; Joseph F. Runtz and John P. Runtz. And Belfry his wire terrier and constant companion. He was preceded in death by his sister Christine A. Runtz A Memorial Service was held at the Valley Mortuary.
