Sally Hennigar Brackett died on March 11th, 2009 at the age of 89. She was born August 30, 1919 in Detroit, Michigan. She was the youngest of 4 children to Robert and Phoebe Hennigar. Sally was the last surviving child of that marriage but has many nieces and nephews scattered across the U.S. She went to college at Wayne State University in Detroit, and then went on to be one of the first airline stewardesses for American Airlines where she traveled internationally for several years. She was married to Robert (Bob) for 61 years. They lived in Southfield, Michigan where they raised their two boys David and Ted. In 1968, they moved to Chanthum, New Jersey so Bob could be closer to his work in New York City with "International Nickel Company." There, Sally went to work for Exxon Oil. She was a major contributor to the ASPCA in New York City for most of her years in New Jersey, and their homes have been graced with animals, mostly cats and dogs including strays and purebreds. While living in Michigan, Sally trained Collies and won several awards in obedience and show. Sally and Bob lost their youngest son, Ted, in November of 2007, when he died suddenly. Sally is survived by her husband Bob, son David, daughter in-law Cindy, grandson Zachary, and our two cats, Gutter and Samantha. We will miss her shining spirit and smile
