Valerie Green

February 16, 1969 — November 11, 2014

Valerie Ann Green, 45, passed away peacefully in Jackson, Wyoming on November 11, 2014. Born in Indiana, Pennsylvania on February 16, 1969 to Dawn and Ron Green. Preceded in death by her mother, Dawn, Valerie leaves behind her two sons who were the joy of her life, Kyle "Vinny" Vinson and Aaron Pacheco. She graduated from Kelly Walsh High School in Casper, WY in 1987 and worked for the Wyoming High School Activity Association before moving to Jackson where she worked in office and accounting for Jackson Hole Title & Escrow and for Thompson Palmer & Associates. Valerie's number one hobby in life was watching her boys excel in their respective sports - football and hockey. She was a second mother to the boys' friends, loving them as though they were her own. Her house was the safe place to crash and they knew they could count on her to be happy for their joys and supportive in their struggles - producing amazing memories that will never be forgotten and stories to be shared and cherished forever. Also known as "Aunt Fral", she leaves behind siblings Dennis Green, Carl Green, Brian Green, Marcea Bushared and Kelly Keller and their spouses, nieces and nephews Forest, Jade, Celadon, Parker, Nicholas, Emmanuel, Joshua, Cierra, Jordan, Kathryn and Daniel, and great-nieces as well as aunts and uncles. The family would also like to acknowledge how her ex-husbands, Michael Pacheco and Quinn Vinson, partnered with her in unified love for the boys. Valerie's favorite novel was The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton in which Ponyboy reads Nothing Gold Can Stay by Robert Frost: "Nature's first green is gold/Her hardest hue to hold/Her early leaf's a flower/But only so an hour/Then leaf subsides to leaf/So Eden sank to grief/So dawn goes down to day/Nothing gold can stay." The family would especially like to thank Traci Scaling-Mears, Thompson Palmer & Associates and all of the members of the Jackson community, Hockey and otherwise, who have often gone above and beyond in their love and support of Valerie and her boys through the years. Your legacy of love and generosity is the kind of gold that truly stays. Services will be on Monday, November 17th at 7 p.m at Snow King Sports & Events Center, 100 E. Snow King Ave in Jackson. In lieu of flowers, memorials will be directed to a fund for her children. Valerie Ann Green Memorial Fund Bank of Jackson Hole PO Box 7000 Jackson WY 83002
