William Zell

William James Zell December 14, 2010 Jim Zell, our beloved son, brother, uncle and friend, a native of Syracuse and long time resident of Jackson Hole Wyoming died Tuesday morning at St. Johns Living Center, he was 48 years old. Once regarded as one of the top free skiers in the world Jim was confined to a wheelchair after a 1996 Paragliding accident. Prior to his accident, he was a forefather of extreme skiing and an original member of the infamous ski fraternity known as the Jackson Hole Air Force. Jim fought long and hard to survive and was known, even before his injuries and illnesses, to live ever day as though it was his last. Jim leaves behind a legacy and many friends and relatives. Surviving family includes his parents Joan and Jerry of Syracuse, brother Jeff and sister Julie of Jackson Hole WY., John, Jane, Joanne and Joe of Syracuse, NY and Jerry of Albany, NY., as well as nephews and nieces. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday at 11 am at the Most Holy Rosary Church, 111 Roberts Ave, Syracuse. Respects to the family will follow the service.
